The Portsmouth Public Education Foundation (PPEF) is proud to support the Educators of the Portsmouth School District. Their hard work and dedication have given our community a desirable and high achieving education system. We are proud to announce that starting in the school year 2011-2012, PPEF will increase their grant limit from $750.00 to $1000.00.
Also in the upcoming school year (2011-2012), in order to streamline our bookkeeping, PPEF will change the way it awards Educational Excellence Grants. Applications for grants to be considered in the upcoming school year must still be mailed to PPEF by August 15. There is no change on our application deadline. The grant project must be completed in the school year it was funded and a Fall Social display is still a requirement in accepting the grant. But for the teachers awarded grants at the Teachers Orientation meeting, instead of receiving the actual checks, the grant recipients will receive grant vouchers.
The grant vouchers will include the teacher’s name, name of grant and amount awarded for that school year. Once the teacher has made their grant purchases, the teacher will submit copies of the receipts and applicable inventory numbers to PPEF. If needed, teachers may submit receipts for reimbursement multiple times during the grant period. Inventory numbers are required for any technological or electronic device over $50. Once PPEF receives this data, a check will be written for the receipt submitted, up to the grant amount. The check will be written out to the teacher and mailed via their school address.
For the vouchers to be honored, both receipts and applicable inventory numbers must be postmarked to PPEF post office box by May 1 of that school year. Unless an extension is approved in advance by PPEF, any receipts received after May 1 may risk not being refunded. PPEF recommends that you submit your information as soon as you make your purchase.
If you have any questions or concern, please email PPEF at firstname.lastname@example.org. Once again, thank you to the Portsmouth Public School Educators for the great work that they do for our students and for our community.
