Grants

Our Educational Excellence Grants are given for projects that are not ordinarily funded by the school operating budget. Projects receiving a grant must be implemented during the academic year in which they are funded.

Grants range up to $1500 and may be used to purchase project materials, provide off-site educational opportunities, or support curricula goals. Projects that benefit an entire class or grade level, purchase items of enduring benefit, or engage community resources are encouraged. Grant eligibility is limited to those projects supporting the foundation’s mission.

Grant awards will be announced at the School Department Orientation Meeting.
Mini Grants. Whenever possible, the opportunity to provide Mini-Grants to teachers during the school year will be granted. The date may vary but building principals will be notified if the grant window opens. Mini-Grants will range up to $500. Awarded Mini-Grants will be processed quickly and recipients will be notified by mail.

These grants are our way of supporting our valuable, creative teaching staff and honoring their commitment to the education of our children in Portsmouth. On behalf of the Board Members, we look forward to receiving your proposal.

Please complete the online application and submit directly to portseducation@gmail.com. It is important to remember that we still require the principal’s approval, and, if the grant involves technology, Technology Director. There is an area in which to upload this approval.

At this time, the grant application cannot be saved, please plan on completing this document at one sitting.
