PPEF 2nd Annual Color Run

This April 29, 2017, the Portsmouth Public Education Foundation will be hosting its 2nd annual My School Color Run fundraising event. The My School Color Run program aims to go beyond traditional fund raising. This program seeks to engage the community, regardless of age or level of fitness, an initiative that promotes a life-long healthy way of living. PPEF is extremely excited as last year we hosted 185 runners in our first year!!! We’re looking forward to involving even more of the community in this fun and healthy program. Save on registration by putting together a “family” of 4 or more.

This year we will also incorporate seperate runner and walker color celebrations at the end of the race so no one misses out. We are sure to have plenty of color packets on hand!

Before the event, we are requesting local businesses to consider being event sponsors. This is a great opportunity to make a difference for students in the community as PPEF keeps 100% of the funds raised through donations and sponsors. Monies are in turn awarded directly to teachers and students, funding enrichment programs and materials in our Portsmouth Public Schools. During the current 2016-2017 school year PPEF has awarded over $25,000 in grant funding to our four public schools for such things.

We hope to make this an annual family event and have already began planning hoe to make next years run even more successful. Thank you to all that supported PPEF in this first go at it.

On the first day of school for the 2015-2016 year, 8 grants were awarded by PPEF during teacher orientation at Portsmouth High School. The grants presented for this academic year are as follows:
